Banana Little Bites Muffins (No Added Sugar, Kid-Friendly Snack)

If your kids ask for snacks as often as mine do, you know the struggle: you want something quick, but also something you feel good about serving. These banana little bites muffins started as a copycat of the popular store-bought toddler muffins… and quickly became a regular in our kitchen.

They’re soft, naturally sweet, made with simple pantry ingredients — and best of all, no added sugar. And honestly? You don’t miss it.

I make a batch at the beginning of the week, stash some in the freezer, and suddenly snack time feels way less chaotic.

Why we love these

These are one of those snacks the whole family actually eats.

My toddlers love them. My partner grabs one on his way out the door. And I’ve definitely eaten more than a few standing at the counter.

They taste like a treat, but they’re just sweetened with ripe bananas. No syrup, no refined sugar, no weird ingredients. Just real food that feels easy.

Do they need sugar?

I tested these without any added sugar, and truly — the sugar doesn’t feel like it’s missing. Ripe bananas do all the work.

That said, if your bananas aren’t super ripe, or you simply prefer a sweeter muffin, you can add:

¼ cup regular sugar or coconut sugar

Both work beautifully without changing the texture.

Want regular-sized muffins instead?

I’m also including notes in the recipe card for making these as regular-sized muffins with bakery-style tops.

Same batter, just:
• FILL muffin cups
• Increase bake time
• Higher starting oven temp for that domed top
Perfect if you’re baking for older kids, adults, or school lunches.
